Forbidden Caverns is a set of caverns and tourist attraction in Sevierville, Tennessee, near the Smoky Mountains. Flint from these caverns was used by the Eastern Woodland Indians to create arrowheads, knives, and scrapers. A scraper could be used to clean a hide, bones and other similar materials in the making of food, clothing or weapons.
Tuckaleechee runs under the Smoky Mountains National Park to Townsend, Tennessee. The caverns were discovered in the mid-19th century and were opened to the public by Bill Vananda and Harry Myers in 1953.
Blue Spring Cave is a cave located in White County, Tennessee, on the north side of Blue Spring Cove. Blue Spring Cave is Tennessee's longest cave and the 9th longest cave in the United States. Blue Spring Cave had an explored length of only 500 feet as recently as 1989.
Big Bone Cave is a cave located in Van Buren County, Tennessee. It is notable both for its history and current recreational use. It is named for the discovery of the bones of a giant ground sloth in 1811.
