History of Winona Ryder

An actress with eternal fame.

Winona Ryder was born on October 29, 1971 to Cynthia Palmer and Michael D. Horowitz. She was born in Olmsted County, Minnesota, but was named after a nearby town, Winona. She grew up in a ranch commune in Northern California, which had no electricity. Her family is a mix of Russian Jewish, and Romanian Jewish.

She's been in the film industry since the young age of 13. Ryder had a rough school life in junior year, where a group of boys harrassed her, injuring her so badly she had to have stitches. For the rest of her school years, she was homeschooled for her own safety. She has a younger brother Uri Horowitz, an older half-brother Jubal Palmer and an older half- sister Sunyata Palmer. Winona Ryder's real hair color is blonde, but for most films, she keeps it dyed dark, Edward Scissorhands being the exception.
