She was married to Fritz Mandl, who was a chairman of Hirtenberger Patronen-Fraken, for 4 years. Her 2nd husband was Gene Markey, an American author, producer, screenwriter, and naval officer, for 2 years. Her 3rd husband, John Loder, an established British film actor and immigrant, managed to stay married to her for 4 years. Hedy's 4th husband was Teddy Stauffer, who was a Swiss bandleader, muscician, actor, nightclub owner, and restaurateur. He formed a band know as the Teddies, but only stayed married to Hedy for a single year. The fifth husband, Hedy's longest marraige, was W. Howard Lee, a Texas oilman. They stayed together for a total of 7 years. Hedy Lamarr's final husband was Lewis J. Boies, her very own divorce lawyer, whom she also divorced. After her 6th and final divorce, she stayed unmarried for 35 years, when she passed away.
