The Tucker Automobile, commonly known as the Tucker 48, was invented by Preston Tucker and was produced in Chicago for a brief time. Only 50 cars were produced before the company's downfall in 1949. The car had many features ahead of its time.
Features
The car was a sleek luxury vehicle, often featuring white wall tires and three colors for the interior. There was a third headlamp centered on the front of the car and had rear drive. A perimeter frame surrounded the car for crash protection as well as a roll bar in the roof. The windshield was made from shatterproof glass and the dashboard was padded for safety.
