Biography

Henry Ford was born in Springwells Township, Wayne County, Michigan, on July 30, 1863. Throughout his childhood Henry has had an early interest in mechanics and by the time he was 12, he was spending most of his time in a small machine shop he had equipped for himself. At the age of 15 he constructed his first steam engine. Later when he was older Henry became the apprentice of a machinist in Detroit in a couple shops of James F. Flower and Brothers. After that Henry spent a year setting up and reparing Westinghouse steam engines in Southern Michigan and in July 1891, he was employed as an engineer at the Edison Illuminating Company of Detroit. Later he became cheif engineer in November 6, 1893.

When Henry Ford opened up his own car shop his company was raising more pollution by making more cars for people and it lowered people's activity levels.
